Performing a soft reset

Perform a soft (normal) reset to clear all active program memory and shut down all active programs. This is useful when your phone is running slower than normal, or a program is not performing properly. If a soft reset is performed when programs are running, unsaved work is lost.

2. Remove the stylus to reveal the RESET button that is located at the bottom of the stylus compartment.
3. Use the stylus tip to press the RESET button.

Performing a hard reset

If a normal reset does not solve a system problem, you can perform a hard (full) reset. After a hard reset, the phone is restored to its default settings—the way it was when you first purchased it and turned it on. You will lose any programs you installed, data you entered, and settings you customized on your phone, and only Windows Mobile® software and other pre-installed programs will remain.

Warning! Your phone will be set back to factory default settings. Make sure that any additional installed programs and important data on your phone have been backed up before you perform a hard reset.

Important If Encrypt files when placed on a storage card is enabled, back up all files from the storage card before using Clear Storage, hard reset, or updating the operating system. Otherwise, you will no longer be able to access the encrypted files on the storage card. Use ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center to transfer files between your storage card and computer. After the procedure, copy your files back to the storage card.

To perform a hard reset
1. With the phone turned off, press and hold the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons, then press the END/POWER button shortly and release it. You will then see this message on the screen.

2. Release the VOLUME UP and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
3. Press the VOLUME UP button to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.

Using Clear Storage

If you can access the phone settings, you can use Clear Storage to reset your phone back to factory default settings.
1. Tap Start > Settings > System > Clear Storage.
2. Enter “1234” and then tap Yes.

Samsung Galaxy 5 ကို version 2.3.7 တင္ၾကမယ္

• အရင္ဆံုး လိုခ်င္တာေတြ backup ဆြဲ ထားၾက ေနာ္ 
• Samsung Galaxy 5 USB drivers (For 64bit, 32 version of Windows) – Download Here – For 32 Bit – For 64 Bit – This becomes important. I literally banged my head when my device didn’t connect to laptop. I had the wrong perception that Windows 7 will automatically set up the mobile phone for me. But it didn’t.
• ODIN Multi Downloader, EUROPA, ClockWork Mod For Galaxy 5, Google Apps and Custom ROM from MADTeam
• ဒီမွာေဒါင္းလိုက္ပါ ။ၿပီးရင္ zip ၿဖည္ ၿပီး ေအာက္က ခိုင္းတာဆက္လုပ္ပါ ။  – Download Here – You don’t really need to know what and why all these things do. I’ll be guiding you through. For now, just download all these files which have been packed into a single .rar file for your convenience
• USB Cable using which you can connect your Samsung Galaxy to windows running computer.
• MicroSD card with free Space of at-least 1 GB – You’ll be needing this to backup the current version of ROM running on your galaxy, just to be on safe side and transferring the new Android Gingerbread version 2.3.7 to your device for automatic flashing!
• Fully charged galaxy phone.
• Make a full backup of your mobile phone including contacts, media, etc.

Disclaimer

I hate reading and writing disclaimer. But because activities like this can potentially break your device, It’s important that we clarify some things before proceeding. Otherwise you’ll be up in a jiffy to grab my neck and hold me responsible for anything that goes bad with your device. So, it’s better to make some things clear. First, the files you’ve downloaded above haven’t been developed by me or anyone here at TechVorm, I have compiled them from trusted sources and the same has worked for me. Second, although I’ll try to be explanatory about the process but there are no guarantees. Shit happens. Third, Do not switch off/reboot your mobile phone during this process. You’ll screw up everything.

Phase I

1. Turn off your Galaxy 5.
2. Hold the Volume Down + Home + Power Button to put it in “Download Mode” (as shown below).
3. Run ODIN Multi Downloader found in Galaxy 5 Prep Pack.
4. Select EUROPA.ops in the OPS field.
5. Select One Package and ClockworkMod-Galaxy5-v0.4.tar in the one package field.
6. Now connect your phone to your computer via usb cable and wait for it to show up in ODIN (Under COM Port mapping).
7. Once it shows click on “Start”.

Your mobile phone will now boot in Clockwork Recovery with a screen something similar to one shown below:

Phase II

1. Using the D pad browse to “Mounts and storage”.
2. Once in mounts and storage select “Mount USB Storage”. Your memory card will show up in your computer.
3. Copy the “update-cm-7.1.0-RC1-MADTEAM-v1.6-signed.zip” file from Galaxy 5 Prep Pack to the memory card from your computer and safely remove/eject the memory.
4. Now, on your mobile press the back button several times, till you reach the Clockwork recovery screen as shown above.

Phase III

1. Browse to Wipe date/factory reset and select “yes” – This will revert your mobile to factory settings and delete all the data (But we have back up. Yay!).
2. Browse to Wipe cache and select “yes”.
3. Browse to Advanced –> Wipe dalvik cache and select “Yes”.

Phase IV

Now comes the stage where you put the custom ROM viz. Cyanogen Mod 7.1 which will put Android 2.3.7 in your Galaxy 5 I5503/I5500.

1. Browse to Install zip from SD card and select “Select zip from SD card”.
2. Select the “update-cm-7.1.0-RC1-MADTEAM-v1.6-signed.zip” file that you copied to the memory card in Phase II.
3. Initiate it by selecting “yes”.
4. Once its done reboot your phone by selecting “Reboot system now” from the main menu.

Now, if your mobile phone reboots without any issue and shows the homescreen then you have successfully installed Android Gingerbread version 2.3.7 on your Samsung Galaxy 5. What you need to do now is install Android Market, Gmail and other Google apps. For that follow the below mentioned steps:

1. Press the power button and select “reboot”.
2. Now select “recovery”.
3. You will be taken to Clockwork Recovery mode (as it did earlier).
4. Go to “Mounts and Storage” and select “Mount USB storage”.
5. Connect your device to computer and from your computer copy “Google Apps.zip” file to memory card.
6. Safely remove/eject memory card from your computer.
7. On your mobile, from the Clockwork recovery screen go to “Install zip from SD card” –> Select “zip from sd card” and select “Google Apps.zip” file.
8. Now select “Yes”.
9. Once the installtion is done, reboot your phone by selecting “Reboot system now” from the main menu.

That’s it! You have a Samsung Galaxy 5 with Android 2.3.7 version fully running in it….. Enjoy the Android awesome and do share your views/queries via comment section below.

Just Follow This Step

Step 1: Root your W8
- download and unzip SuperOneClickv1.9.1-ShortFuse to PC Desktop
- connect W8 to PC (Do not mount)
- on your phone [goto] [setting] [applications] select [unknown sources]
- on your phone [goto] [setting] [applications] [development] select [usb debugging]
- Launch SuperOneClick, click [Root]
- If it ask something about Busy Box just click Yes
- you will see - [not successful - is your phone software higher than 2.0?]
- click [yes] and then [success] & [test su] message
(this last part might not appear the same as It's written here, so just use your common sense to get through)

If you are successful in ROOTING your phone - SuperUser app will be installed to your W8.
If you are not successful:-
(a) check your PC [devices] [usb] to see if your phone is recognized by your PC (troubleshoot PC driver problem)
(b) [usb debugging] in your W8 phone settings enabled?
Then [Launch] [SuperOneClick] and try again.

Install any File Manager from Android Market, such as Astro File Manager.


Step 2: Mount W8 (to access SD Card)
- copy [Root.Explorer.v2.16.apk] to root of SD Card
- using PC create folder [xRecovery] and unzip xRecovery0.1.rar
- put the 3 files into the xRecovery folder you've created
- copy the xRecovery folder to root of SD Card


Step 3: UnMount W8 from PC


Step 4: Launch [Astro File Manager] Install [Root Explorer v2.16.apk]


Step 5:
- Launch [Root Explorer]
- scroll down to /sdcard [click to access]
- scroll down to xRecovery folder [click to access]
- Select each of the 3 files (one by one) [click & hold] [copy]
- [click] parent folder (twice)
- scroll down to [click to access] [system]
- [click to access] [bin] and [click] [Mount R/W] (R/W as in Read/Write)
- press [paste] button

Now your Phone should be rooted and ready to install your Android 2.3.7




Step 1: Make a backup copy of your Android Eclair 2.1 using xRecovery
- check that your phone's SD Card has at least 650MB of free space
[SD card free space is to hold both your phone original backup ROM and the 2.3 ROM]
- shutdown your W8 and wait 5 seconds and then [reboot] your phone.
- when you see the words [Sony Ericsson] on the phone screen, start pressing the back button on your phone multiple times and you will enter the xRecovery Menu.
- select [backup and restore] [backup] from the menu

NOTE:
- This will create a backup file in your SD Card [SD/xRecovery/backup]
- After you have completed the backup using xRecovery, it will return to the menu screen.
- Now choose [reboot] - your W8 phone should restart


Step 2: Download GingerXperia ROM (something you probably already did with the links above)
- [mount] your W8 and copy this file [GingerDX.zip] into SD card
- [unmount] and shutdown your W8

Step 3: Installing the 2.3.7 ROM on your W8
- [boot] W8
- when you see the words [Sony Ericsson] on the phone screen, start pressing the back button on your phone multiple times and you will enter the xRecovery Menu.
- [select] [factory reset (full wipe)]
- scroll down and hit [install custom zip]
- select [GingerDX.zip] from your SD card & hit [yes]
- xRecovery will start to install the 2.3.7 ROM on your phone.
- when it is done, xRecovey will go back to the startup menu
- [click] [reboot]

If you are stuck in the GingerDX startup screen for more than 5 minutes, just try restart the phone and It should be fine. Took me 2 restarts before the new ROM took action.

RESTORING THE Official Android Eclair 2.1.1 ROM

- [shutdown] wait 5 seconds [reboot] W8
- when you see the words [Sony Ericsson] on the phone screen, start pressing the back button on your phone multiple times and you will enter the xRecovery Menu.
- [select] [factory reset (full wipe)]
- scroll down and hit [backup/restore] [restore]
- you should see your original 2.1 backup ROM
- [select] [2011-10-xx.xx.xx.xx.ROM] [restore] [it should look something like 2011-05-06.21.01.23]
- xRecovery will start to install the original 2.1.1 ROM [the ROM you've backed up in Step 1] from your phone's SD Card.
- when it is done xRecovey will go back to the startup menu
- [click] [reboot]

1. Please make sure your Samsung Galaxy S 2 is charged more than 70% for the successful completion of rooting process.
2. You need internet connection because there are few things, which need to be downloaded before us starting the rooting.
3. Don’t interrupt the rooting process in between, it may lead to bricking of your phone.
4. Patiently and lovingly follow the instructions given in this tutorial
Don’t forget to take backup of your phone, before performing the custom ROM installation

How to Install/Update Samsung Galaxy S2 to Android 4.0.1 Custom ROM

Step I:
I assume you had downloaded Ice Cream Sandwich Custom ROM Package, extract it. The password for extracting that compressed file is samfirmware.com. After extracting the zip file, you will get 4 different files with same extension i.e. “.md5″.
Step II:
1. Make sure you had already installed Samsung Kies by now. Now open the Odin v1.85.exe. You will see the interface as shown below:
2. Restart your Android device using the following key combination:
Volume Down + Home Key + Power button
It will bring your phone into download mode; now click the volume up button to continue in download mode.

Connect your Samsung Galaxy S II with PC via USB cable. Please wait until the driver installation gets complete. After the completion of driver installation, You will see that the “COM Port Number” in the COM ID: column of Odin is now set. Please make sure that nothing is checked, except the “Auto reboot” and “F. Reset Time”check boxes. As shown below in the screenshot,

Step III:
Now Click on second button “Bootloader”  of Odin utility and select the
“I9100_APBOOT_I9100XXKP1_CL16459_REV02_eng_mid_ship.tar.md5” file.
Next, Click on “PDA” and select the
“I9100_CODE_I9100XXKP1_CL16459_REV02_eng_mid_ship.tar.md5” file.
Next, Click on “PHONE” and select the
“MODEM_I9100XXKP1_REV_02_CL1085642.tar.md5” file.

Now click on the “Start” button and wait until the process gets completed. Your phone will be automatically rebooted after the process gets completed. Detach your phone from PC. Close Odin!!
Step IV:
On the completion of above step, your phone will be restarted and will come to “Bluish screen”, feels like command prompt. You have to choose the “reboot system” and click “home key” button. You phone will restart again.
Step V:
Forcefully switch off your phone by long pressing the power button. Now again restart your phone in the download mode using the following key combination
Volume Down + Home Key + Power Button
Continue in the download by clicking the volume up button. Attach your phone with PC again and this time,
Click ONLY on “PDA” button and select the
“I9100_KERNEL_I9100XXKP1_CL16459_REV02_eng_mid_ship.tar.md5” file.
Make sure you chosen only PDA option, click on “start” button. This process with take only few seconds and your phone will reboot again.
Now you got a screen mentioning “Android is upgrading”. It will process about 85 (or 65 files, I don’t remember exact count). Then follow the phone setup wizard and enjoy the whole new Android experience.

သူ႕ဘာသူ အားလံုးၿပီးရင္ ဖုန္းၿပန္တက္လာပါမယ္ ။ တက္လာရင္ android ပံုေလး နဲ႔ တရုတ္ စာနဲ႔ ေပၚလာရင္ အရင္ ဆံုး ညာဘက္တစ္ ခုေရႊးေပးလိုက္ပါ ။ၿပီးရင္ english ကိုေရႊးေပးလိုက္ပါ။ ၿပီးမွ android ပံုေလး ကို ႏိုပ္ ၿပီး ဆက္လုပ္သြား လိုက္ပါ ။
