Move your Apps to SD card on Android 2.1 by using Link2SD...

This post is aimed at the Huawei C8500 users in Myanmar.
On Android 2.1 phones, we feel not enough space for Apps and we can't use some Apps-to-SD applications b'coz they can run only on 2.2 + ...
This method has been tested on my C8500 and now I'm enjoying that.
I'm not so sure it will work on other Android 2.1 phones... but probably work on C8600 and Ideos U8150 phones too... just check it out...
I have been searching for and trying on how to move my Apps to SD without upgrading to Android 2.2 versions... b'coz, sometimes, there are some problems on your device after upgrading... we want to avoid those problems,don't we?

First of all, let's prepare the required items...
your phone must already be rooted...
if not rooted yet, try z4root for this purpose... coz' it's easy...
I will skip about rooting process here since most of the C8500 phones are already rooted by your mobile shop when you bought it...



then, download " Mini Tool Partition Wizard Home Edition" (version 7.0) from the following link

after downloading install it on your PC... just install and don't run...

next, download Link2SD 1.8.0 apk file from the following link

just keep the file on your PC...

Now, you need to make a partition on your SD b4 using Link2SD...
connect your SD card to PC... if u connect by mobile, mount it to the PC...

we will now go back to the PC...
b4 doing anything on your SD card, please back-up all your data on the SD card...just to be on the safe side...
Run your Partition Wizard... the one you downloaded...
right click on the SD card then choose " Move/Resize "
then you will see a bar showing your available memory on your SD card...
adjust it... by dragging on the right end of the bar or by manual input...
e.g. - if you have 2 GB on the SD and if u want 0.5 GB for the Apps on SD, then leave 1.5 GB here... ( or ) manually put 0.5 GB in the bottom box..." Unallocate space after " as 0.5 GB... ( it depends on you... for me 200 MB is good enough for Apps on SD )
then, click OK...
If a msg comes up, showing that you won't be able to see the second partition, just click OK.
Now, you will see a new Partition marked by a star " * " .
right click on that... choose " Creat '... and put the following...
File System - Ext2
Creat As - Primary
Cluster Size - Default
Partition Label - ext2
then Click OK...
after that, click "Apply" on the top left corner...
wait for a moment and your SD Card will have 2 partitions...
1 for the normal usage like songs, photos, videos and so on...
1 for Link2SD... named as ext2...
move your Link2SD apk file to your SD card... into normal partition...
now... disconnect your mobile and PC...
Restart your mobile...
Install and run Link2SD... and choose " ext2 " ...
then, you will need to restart it again...
now, you can Link your Apps to SD...

Note - your System applications are not allowed to link to SD card...
